Standings Tiebreakers

The standings tiebreakers determine the order in which various criteria are applied to decide who sits higher in the league standings when a number of teams have the same overall record.

Playoff berths
The league standings dictate which teams make the playoffs at the end of the regular season. Divisional champions are crowned by selecting the team at the top of the division standings at the end of the regular season. Wildcard berths are determined by lumping all remaining teams together into one group and applying the standings tiebreakers to produce the top n teams, where n is the number of wildcard teams in your league's playoffs.

Waiver order
The league standings also determine the waiver order each week, for those leagues that use the worst-to-first waiver system. The waiver order is compiled by lumping all teams together into one group and using the standings tiebreakers to produce a first-to-last ordering of each team. This list is then reversed to produce a worst-to-first order, which becomes the waiver order for the week.
